Cassia javanica or Apple Blossom Shower

In Curaçao the Cassia javanica does not get as big and high as it does in the rainforest climate in south-east Asia. It withstands wind fairly well. Must be irrigated regularly.

The flower is dark pink and stay on the tree several weeks. The flowers actually stand on the branches which have a wheeping character. There are several beautiful examples of about 20 years old at the Marriott hotel.
