Hymenocallis latifolia or Spider Lily of Lelie
Hymenocallis latifolia of Spider Lily of Lelie is a bulb-forming plant with long green leaves of about 23-25". Its flowers are white and have a pleasant smell. It is a very strong plant that does well here. The plant multipies by creating new bulbs.
During drought and and aging the leaves turn yellow and then brown.
Insects don't seem to bother the plant to much, but the red spider mite can occur in it.
Maintenance of this plant mainly consists of removing discolored and dead leaves.
