Hyophorbe lagenicaulis or Bottle Palm

Hyophorbe lagenicaulis aka Bottle Palm, only has about 6 leaves. The trunk swells at the base of the trunk and it slowly thins as the palm ages/grows. It is used a lot in small areas in landscaping, but also as potplant on verandas and arround pools.

Petioles (leafstalk) of young leaves are orange/red at first and then change to green.
